Blue Rock Vineyard, named for the blue rocks and pebbles of serpentine, is located adjacent to Silver Oak Winery and The Seghesio Home Ranch Vineyards. The vineyard was originally planted in the 1880s and subsequently replanted in 1982 to the five Bordeaux varietals. Since then, the 46 acre vineyard has been gradually replanted with the benefit of experience with this unique site. Our vision is to create a distinctive, harmonious Estate consisting of clones and varietals that allow us to craft luxurious wines that reflect a true sense of place. Blue Rock wines will always be produced exclusively from grapes from the Estate vineyard. The history of Sapphire Hill Vineyards can be traced to the El Molino Ranchero belonging to General Mariano Vallejo. General Vallejo, the last Mexican Governor of California before his overthrow during the 1846 Bear Flag Revolt, granted the Ranchero in 1834 to his brother-in-law, Captain John Cooper. Captain Cooper, in turn, sold 120 acres in 1869 to a Massachusetts relative, Lucy Sullivan, and her husband, Levi Grant Grove. Sapphire Hill is located on the original homestead of Lucy and Levi Grove.

Souverain focuses on producing outstanding wines that represent the best of Alexander Valley. Souverain’s 120-year-old estate in the Alexander Valley is the primary source of grapes for its wines which include an Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as the flagship Winemaker’s Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker Ed Killian has been making wines in Alexander Valley for 25 years. He knows the vineyards of Alexander Valley inside and out and he understands which blocks will give him the fruit he’s looking for to create Souverain’s signature style. The history of Souverain began in the Napa Valley in 1944 when J. Leland “Lee” Stewart harvested his first crop of wine grapes from his Howell Mountain property in the northern part of the valley. From the next vintage, he produced his own wines, surprising many by winning medals at the California State Fair. Stewart was a trendsetter. He was among the first in California to concentrate on single-varietal, estate-style wines; introduce Petite Sirah as a varietal; produce style-defining Zinfandels and German-style Johannisberg Rieslings; and, mirroring the French, insist that Chardonnay be fermented in oak rather than stainless steel. In the years that followed, Stewart used innovation and a natural gift for winemaking to establish Souverain as one of the great California wineries. The winery moved to the Alexander Valley in 1973, where it remains today. In 2006, Souverain custom built a state-of-the-art winemaking facility surrounded by the 120-year-old Souverain Estate Vineyard in the Alexander Valley, near Cloverdale, where Winemaker Ed Killian has long been sourcing the grapes for his award-winning Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery was completed just in time to crush grapes from the 2006 harvest. Most of the new design is focused on the ability to maintain small lot integrity and to gently handle the estate fruit.

The vineyards of Stonestreet Winery are planted along the Mayacamas Mountains where they rise above the eastern edge of the Alexander Valley in northern Sonoma County. We grow the grapes for our wines at elevations ranging from 400 to 2,400 feet where conditions are remarkably different than they are on the valley floor. At elevation, soils are leaner, rockier and more mineral-laden than they are below, and the temperature on the mountain is often cooler. The result is fruit with more intense color and flavor.

2007 has treated Trois Voyelles well.
