Alexander Valley Winegrowers Membership Cancellation Policy

The AVW membership drive is from December 1 to January 31, followed by a 30-day grace period (for reminders, hesitations, and late payments), after which any accounts not renewed will be subject to the cancellation policy below and a late fee.

Winery Members:
  • Website and Directory Removal: Upon cancellation or failure to renew membership by the membership drive end date of that membership year, the winery’s business name and contact information will be removed from the AVW website and member directory. AVW updates these listings once per month.
  • Event and Promotion Exclusion: Cancelled members will no longer be eligible to participate in AVW-held events, partner events, attend member events, or utilize digital marketing promotions.
  • Directional Signs: Directional signs remain in place as they positively influence tourism in the valley.

Grower Members:

  • Marketing and Event Participation: Cancelled grower members lose the ability to market to members, attend member events, and will have their information removed from the website, promotional materials, and newsletters if dues are not paid by the membership drive end date of that membership year.
  • Metal Site Signs: Similar to winery directional signs, metal site signs remain.

Continuous Improvement and Member Education:

  • Strategic Marketing Initiatives: AVW is committed to enhancing visibility, attracting tourism, and facilitating connections with qualified buyers through continuous strategic marketing efforts.
  • Education: Educational programs for members, their staff, and consumers focus on enhancing knowledge about Alexander Valley and industry trends.
  • Membership Dues Importance: The quality and reach of initiatives provided by AVW are directly dependent on the dues collected during the membership drive from December 1
to January 31. These dues are crucial for sustaining and launching new member benefits.
This comprehensive outline emphasizes the benefits and membership policies of the Alexander Valley Winegrowers, helping prospective and current members understand the value and expectations associated with their membership.
