CYRUS: Honoring the History, Tradition & Excellence of Alexander Valley
When Cyrus Alexander rode into the Alexander Valley in 1840 he called it the “brightest and best spot in the world.” Learn about the iconic CYRUS wine that honors the Alexander Valley namesake. Join Alexander Valley Vineyards for a historical perspective on the man, the region, and the wine that showcases it all. You’ll start by tasting a future lot of CYRUS in the barrel, so you can mimic the process that winemaker Kevin Hall works through. Then you’ll get to try your hand at blending with the components. You’ll finish up by tasting several vintages of CYRUS.
Are you ready to take your wine knowledge to the next level? Get the inside scoop on what it takes to be a Somm from Certified Sommelier Laura Carpenter Hawkes. No losers here, but the winner will get bragging rights and an honorary somm pin! You’ll also enjoy homemade and local treats and take home a personal tasting book.
Join our wine educator as they guide you through an in-depth sensory experience. Beginning with a lesson on aromas and finishing with a journey into wine and food pairings you will learn techniques that will aid you in your analysis of wine and further enhance your appreciation of the subtle nuances wine can achieve. Jordan Vineyard & Winery
Exploring the Three Cs: Cabernet, Chardonnay, and Cheese
Wine and cheese are frequent companions, but with the seemingly infinite number of flavor variations in both wine and cheese, how do you discover the perfect pairings? What doesn’t? With a comprehensive tasting of eight wines and eight cheeses, we will cover the bases and basics to come up with the definitive and ultimate perfect pairs.
