Annual Pruning Contest – February 15, 2022. This will be our 22nd Annual Pruning Contest! This annual event is an opportunity to honor the hard work, dedication, and skills of our vineyard workers. NOTE: We are the only AVA in the region that still holds a pruning contest!

Grower Marketplace – March 9, 2022. This will be our 2nd Annual Grower Marketplace bringing growers & buyers together under one roof. At this event our growers can meet face-to-face with buyers, discuss their growing practices, their grapes, and their pricing. This event includes relevant guest speakers and a taco-truck lunch.

The Grape List – Published March & August. Our biannual publication of Alexander Valley Grapes for Sale. This PDF is sent to our list of brokers, buyers, & reps, and to all of our Member Wineries encouraging them to buy Alexander Valley fruit!

Cabernet Academy – May 15-18. This event brings influential sommeliers and wine buyers to Alexander Valley and provides high quality, focused exposure to our valley and our Cabernet Sauvignon. Increasing our notoriety for Cabernet translates to increased bottle prices and increased grape prices for our winegrowers. AVWG partners with The SOMM Journal for our Cabernet Academy event and annually has an 8-page feature and ad space in the popular industry magazine, providing excellent exposure for our valley. NOTE: Wineries must opt-in and meet the criteria to participate in this event.

Integrated Pest Management Meetings – May, June & July. IPM Meetings begin. An opportunity for growers to discuss and share winegrowing strategies. Each meeting will have speakers covering a variety of topics such as pest control, farming practices & compliance. Brown bag meet-ups are held immediately following the IPM meetings at Hoot Owl Creek organized by the Sonoma Winegrape Commission. Continuing Education Units are available at the monthly meetings.

Experience Alexander Valley – June 11 & 12. A two-day festival of intimate, exclusive experiences hosted by the wineries, targeting a very desirable wine-drinking demographic to Alexander Valley. Experience Alexander Valley will be listed on event calendars throughout Sonoma County and the greater Bay Area. Local promotions include printed postcards in dozens of hotels and tasting rooms, signage on Hwy 101, and extensive social media advertising.

Annual Member BBQ – July 20, 2022. Our annual BBQ is a chance to gather, celebrate summer, and enjoy socializing and networking with other members. We usually invite a guest speaker that will share insight into trends in the industry.

Access Alexander Valley – September 2, 2022. A Grand Tasting of Alexander Valley wines held outside at one of our Member Wineries.
